Kyle Filipowski has arguably been the Summer League's MVP. Every game he's played, he's looked like the best player on the floor. While some performances haven't been as good as others, the Jazz sophomore has consistently looked like he's too good for this stage. That's why it makes sense that Utah has shut him down for the rest of the Summer League.
Both The Athletic's Tony Jones and The Salt Lake Tribune's Andy Larsen confirmed that the Jazz will hold Filipowski out for the rest of Summer League.

Jazz say Kyle Filipowski won’t play in the remainder of summer league.

No, he's not hurt. At least, not as far as anyone knows. But this makes absolute sense as, much like Brice Sensabaugh did back in Salt Lake City, Filipowski had shown he was simply too good to be in the Summer League to the point that many are excited to see what's in store for him in Year 2.
Just look at his averages only three games into his time in Las Vegas. He averaged 29.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists while shooting 56.1% from the field and 39.1% from three. It isn't necessarily indicative of what's to come for when his NBA career resumes three months from now, but it is indicative of how NBA-ready he is compared to his Summer League peers.
While fans would have loved to see more of Filipowski, it is understandable that the Jazz are simply taking the precaution of not having him suffer any untimely injuries before next season starts. Plus, he's going out on the highest note possible (no pun intended).

This opens up the opportunity for more Jazz youngsters
With Filipowski being absent going forward, the Jazz will get to see their other young talent compensate for his absence for the rest of the Summer League. Look for players like Cody Williams, Isaiah Collier, and John Tonje to take advantage with more touches going around for the next few games.
This could also signal the return of Ace Bailey. many have been aching for him to come back after the impression he left two games into the Salt Lake City Summer League. His return could also open the opportunity to see what he could do for the Jazz. Sadly, if he does, it won't be right away, as confirmed by KSL Sports' Ben Anderson.
The @utahjazz injury report:
— Ben Anderson (@BensHoops) July 16, 2025
OUT - Ace Bailey (hip flexor soreness)
OUT - Walter Clayton Jr. (hamstring soreness)
OUT - RJ Luis Jr. (knee soreness)
QUESTIONABLE - John Tonje (ankle sprain)
Additionally, Kyle Filipowski will not play the remainder of Summer League.
The Jazz have one of the most loaded Summer League teams in 2025, so they can afford the sit the likes of Filipowski and Sensabaugh and let some of their other youngsters thrive. This upcoming season likely won;t bring too many wins, so the higher quantity of exciting youngsters they have, the more excited the fanbase will be.
