Jazz have perfect landing spot for Jordan Clarkson

This slumping contender could certainly use Clarkson.

Expect a lot more trade content from here on out. The Utah Jazz will clearly be sellers at the trade deadline. In fact, it's just been reported that if anyone calls, they're ready to get a deal done ASAP.

Among the players they'll try to sell off is Jordan Clarkson, as they have for the past two seasons. It might be easier this time around because Clarkson's deal won't last as long. At this point, since the Jazz are ready to get a deal done, they may settle for simply getting him off their payroll.

There haven't been any reported Clarkson suitors, but that might be because buyers haven't thought of him as the primary target yet. That can change in the coming weeks. Some teams who haven't started their season out may want the help they can to get it back on track, and Clarkson might just be the answer for that problem.

If there's one team that fits this description, it's the 76ers.

Clarkson would be perfect for the Sixers

The Sixers did not start out great, though their struggles can be attributed to being snakebitten by the injury bug. Now that they've got their main players back and healthy, they are starting to look more like a playoff team, but they are still 7-15, and could use reinforcements.

The Sixers Sense explained why Clarkson works as a target for them.

"Outside of Tyrese Maxey and Jared McCain, the 76ers are totally without any other meaningful contributors in the backcourt. Kyle Lowry and Eric Gordon have become unplayable, giving the 76ers every reason to chase someone like Jordan Clarkson, who can give them a significant boost off the bench."

He then explained why he specifically fits with the Sixers.

"He won Sixth Man of the Year not too long ago thanks to his explosive three-level scoring, and his secondary playmaking should come beneficial for a team in dire need of any semblance of passing off the bench."

For years, the Sixers have always talked a big game, but it's never translated into much playoff success. In the Joel Embiid era, they haven't really had a bench scorer who thrives as much as Clarkson has when he is on his game. McCain has been a great find, but it may not be long before he's a starter.

They have plenty of scoring personnel, including Embiid, Maxey, McCain, and Paul George, but who's to say they couldn't use another scorer who takes the pressure off of them? McCain has been excellent, but Clarkson could be the scorer that can help them, especially if they go through the injury bug again.

Not only could Clarkson work there, but since he's inexpensive, it wouldn't take much to get a trade done. The Sixers have KJ Martin's deal, along with Gordon and Lowry (or Reggie Jackson), to dangle to match the salaries. That would be all it would take since the Jazz likely wouldn't require draft compensation.

Clarkson fills a hole for a team that will try like hell from here on out to get out of the hole they unintentionally dug themselves into. Even better, Clarkson should be on a team that could use what he contributes to help their playoff aspirations. Plenty of teams may call about that, but the Sixers fit the best.
