The Utah Jazz have a lot of talent on the roster for the 2026-27 season. Lauri Markkanen, Jaren Jackson Jr., Keyonte George, Ace Bailey, Darryn Peterson - the list goes on. And with that group, they have a chance to make history.
Getting three players into the All-Star Game is something that happens for other franchises at times, but rarely for the Utah Jazz. In fact, it's only happened once in franchise history - 1989, when Karl Malone, John Stockton, and Mark Eaton made the trip to Houston. Malone won the game's MVP award with 28 points, 9 boards, and two steals in a 143-134 West victory.
With the 2027 All-Star Game in Phoenix, and the host Suns unlikely to get multiple All-Stars, an opening is there for the Jazz, especially if they are in the playoff hunt in February.
JJJ has already been an All-Star twice, and Lauri Markkanen has had one berth himself. Keyonte George was snubbed last season after making a third-year leap to stardom. Even with all three healthy, they should still be the best players on the Jazz roster this season.
The Case for Jaren Jackson Jr.
JJJ last made an All-Star berth in 2025, when he averaged 22.2 points and was a disruptive defender. His short stint in Utah last season looked very similar, and translating that to a full season, he should very much be in the running to get his third All-Star selection.
Jackson has talked about coming to Utah to win titles, not just compete for the playoffs, and that has to be music to Jazz fans' ears.
The Case for Lauri Markkanen
Markkanen is able to score all over the court, something that will be enhanced with JJJ next to him in the frontcourt. His long-distance shooting should benefit greatly from having George as another scoring threat.
And after a two-year absence, Markkanen is ready to reminde the NBA that he is indeed an All-Star, once again.
The Case for Keyonte George
Last season's All-Star snub is sure to motivate Keyonte in 2026-27, even if the Jazz were really bad a year ago. In fact, his breakout was a primary reason the Jazz went all-in on getting Jaren Jackson Jr. last season.
Now, armed with weapons and no longer in the tank, he will show once again why he's going to get paid next summer and make the Jazz wish they had locked him up this summer.
Of course, it wouldn't be entirely shocking if Bailey or Peterson were in the running to be All-Stars either, but that would likely mean that one of the three of Jackson, Markkanen, or George isn't living up to expectations. So let's hope the Jazz get three All-Stars somehow in 2027.
