Jazz fans show hilarious sense of humor in all time poll

Even non-Jazz fans will get a kick out of this.

At first, this was pretty insulting, but now, it's just funny. After the Utah Jazz fanbase threw indirect shade at John Stockton for not voting him as the second-best Jazzman ever, it's clear that they're just trying to make everyone laugh. That much was apparent when they voted Russell Westbrook as the fifth-best Jazz player ever.

For context, the X account Jazz Lead held a poll where it allowed Jazz fans to vote on who they thought the best Jazzmen of all-time were. After voting Karl Malone as No. 1 and Lauri Markkanen as No. 2, the order has proceeded as follows: Brice Sensabaugh, Joe Ingles, and now, Westbrook.

Okay, now that's pretty funny. Especially because it's a layered joke. Not only did Westbrook never play for the Jazz (even though he was traded there twice), but he is an all-time player who will be among the Oklahoma City Thunder's all-time greats, but for obvious reasons, not the Jazz.

They say explaining a joke actually ruins the joke, but in this case, it shouldn't matter because it's still pretty hilarious here. Plus, no matter how Jazz fans feel about Westbrook, he did get them another first-round pick.

Too bad that by participating in the Luka Doncic trade, they ruined the value of that pick...

But who are the top-five Jazzmen ever?

Jazz Lead listed Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell, and Adrian Dantley rounding out the order of the Jazz's top five players ever, behind Malone and Stockton. Those aren't bad picks for what it's worth, but there are certainly other players in Jazz history who are in that same tier who have a case.

Among the players that could arguably be ahead of the trio of Gobert, Mitchell, and Dantley are Pete Maravich and Deron Williams. Maravich was one of the NBA's most electric players who didn't get much recognition because the Jazz didn't win much with him.

Williams was once considered one of the best point guards of his era until, coincidentally enough, the Jazz traded him to the Nets. Regardless of how badly things ended with him and the Jazz, he was still the best player on the franchise's last team to make the Eastern Conference Finals.

Those feel like the best players to ever don a Jazz uniform. After that though, the franchise has an interesting batch of players that definitely deserve consideration as the second tier of all-time Jazzmen.

That list includes Mark Eaton, Darrell Griffith, Jeff Hornacek, Carlos Boozer, Andrei Kirilenko, Mehmet Okur, Paul Millsap, and as much as it may disgust the fanbase, even Gordon Hayward. If Markkanen remains on the team when they form their next playoff contender, it may not be long before he enters the conversation too.
