When the Utah Jazz's injury report came out before they took on the Nets, they weren't leaving anything up for interpretation. They were embracing the tank. Don't believe that? Just look at who appeared on the report.

As it turned out, some of these players ended up playing, but most of the Jazz's best players, outside of Collin Sexton, were absent. But why wouldn't they tank this game? They're playing the Nets, who have signaled since the Dennis Schroder trade that they will be in the thick of the tanking game.

However, they came away with the win over the Nets in overtime. If we're being honest, this win was on everyone doing their part while they were heavily undermanned. However, the standout of the game was Isaiah Collier.

One game after Cody Williams had his breakout performance for the Jazz, Collier had his. 23 points on nine-for-16 shooting with three three's, seven rebounds, and seven assists all scream "Breakout" from the Jazz youngster. This will hurt their tanking efforts, but it's still good news to see Collier looking more confident as he gets his feet wet.

That's not to say there weren't some unpleasantries. Collier and Collin Sexton had an intense argument after Collier's refusal to pass to Sexton in the closing seconds of regulation led to an eight-second regulation.

Collier's young, so it's no surprise that even as he improves, he'll have growing pains as he figures himself out in the NBA. Plus, he redeemed himself as he hit the game-winning shot over the Nets in overtime.

The Jazz should be happy about this win

Utah continues to see some of their young players show exactly why the Jazz picked them in the first place. The results haven't been immediate, and they haven't been the best they could have hoped for, but young players like Collier have shown that the Jazz had the right guys in mind when making their picks.

The Jazz have won three games in January, which is the same amount they won last month. Because wins are such a rarity, and because they come because of how well their young players played, fans should be happy about nights like these.

It's a contrast from last year where the Jazz won games primarily because of their veterans. Productive veterans winning their games got in the way of their tanking plans, but when guys like Collier, Williams, Brice Sensabaugh do it, it's a sign that the Jazz are going to be okay long term.
