Dwyane Wade makes his stance on LeBron James joining Jazz crystal clear

Wade and LeBron are BFFs, and Wade is a minority Jazz owner. Could that bring the King to SLC?

Even if LeBron James isn't what he used to be, let's face it Utah Jazz fans, you'd want him on the team if he was interested in coming here. James is also best friends with Dwyane, who is not only a minority owner of the Jazz, but has spoken glowingly about Utah.

So, could that lead LeBron having his swan song with the Jazz? You can stop laughing now because Wade himself made it clear on Shaquille O'Neal's podcast that while he has a team in mind he believes James should join, it isn't the Jazz.

"I think (LeBron) could play two more years," Wade said. "And I got a team I would like for him to go to if he wants to play two more. It ain't Utah, as a fan."

To be fair, he never actually confirmed what team he wants James to join, but he made it clear that he doesn't want his former teammate in Utah, despite his loyalty to the team.

The rumor mill has peddled James' third go-round with the Cavaliers for some time (who Wade played for briefly), which would be good news for Utah, as such a move would hurt the Lakers.

Utah won't need LeBron, but it's a cool idea

LeBron not going to Utah won't exactly break anyone's heart, as the mere thought seems delusional. With everything going the Jazz's way starting next season, it's not like James passing on coming over to the team will stop Utah from being good when they have their full squad.

But we can't deny that he would help. Adding him to this squad, which will feature multiple All-Star-caliber players with or with out him, would give Utah arguably its finest season in the 21st century. Better than that though, it would help with Utah's bad reputation as a team that can't lure free agents.

It's an unfair reputation, but Utah does get referenced as a place NBA players don't go out of their way to join (unless they're good and have the money). The last time the Jazz landed a notable name in free agency was Bojan Bogdanovic, though technically, the last former NBA All-Star to join them via free agency was Joe Johnson, which is nearing 10 years ago.

To land someone like LeBron would instantly refute the notion that Utah can't lure free agents. No one's losing sleep if he doesn't, but it's a cool thought. With any luck, maybe he'll be involved with the Jazz post-retirement like his BFF is.
