Utah Jazz rookie Cody Williams attended the Oklahoma City Thunder's Game 7 win over the Indiana Pacers for the franchise's first-ever NBA title. Being Jalen Williams' little brother, it makes sense that he was there, just like it makes sense that the two would tease each other even after winning a title.
Cody actually caught up with his older brother after the Thunder celebrated their title in the locker room and did a Q&A with him. Cody was surprisingly quite good as an interviewer, but also managed to take a few playful shots at his brother, who returned the favor in kind.
Cody mentioned that Jalen never won a title in college, back-to-back high school titles (something Cody did), or played in the McDonald's game (something Cody did), to which he followed with asking what it was like to win an NBA title. Williams took it and dished it back at Cody before responding earnestly about their accomplishments as basketball players.
"It feels good knowing that I'm the first NBA champion in my family," Jalen joked. "...I feel like I got to enjoy (Cody) winning all those, and it felt like I won, so it's cool that I have my own little thing from that, aside from this 'sibling rivalry.'"
Cody: You didn't win a championship in college... you didn't win high school back-to-back... like some people in your family.@jdubwttp: 🙄

Jalen hopes Cody will get the same opportunity down the line
Cody asked his older of brother a variety of questions, starting with Jalen's initial feelings on winning the title. Jalen singled out Cody for being there to watch him win.
"It was a surreal feeling looking up at (Cody) and my parents and my sister," Jalen said. "It's probably a moment that's going to be burned into my memory forever. Super happy (Cody is) here for it. Obviously, i was moved to tears a little bit. Hopefully you will get this opportunity."

Jalen's story has been impressive since he came into the NBA in 2022. Only three years into the league, he has made an All-Star team, an All-NBA team, and of course, he's won a title. If he's accomplished this much already, imagine what kind of damage he could do in the three years after this.
Here's to hoping that perhaps Cody can follow in his footsteps. His rookie season was a pretty forgettable one, but that doesn't mean his career will wind up like that. It's possible Cody will be the Seth Curry while Jalen will be the Steph, and even so, that's a solid career even if it's not what the Jazz would have wanted.
No matter where things go from here, it's heartwarming to see these two brothers celebrate each other when they succeed, no matter how Cody's rookie season went in Utah.
