Cedi Osman – San Antonio Spurs

Watching the Cleveland Cavaliers trade away this point-forward so they could sign Max Strus and bring in a bunch of bad bench players will go down as a very silly move. Even if Strus does well for the Cavs, the guys that came in to effectively replace Osman off the bench, can’t match what he did for the Cavs.

So far for the Spurs, though it’s early in the seaosn, Osman has never looked better. He’s averaging nearly 12 points per game off the bench, while hitting 58% of his shots from three, and 50% of his shots from three point.

His stats will drop, that’s to be expected, but he’s far more effecient in San Antonio than he has been in years for the Cavs, and part of that is the system. He’s being allowed to shoot from all three tiers, and its paying off in a big way. The Spurs are not going to make the playoffs this year, and when they decide to start selling off some pieces, Osman will likely be moved.

The Jazz need his shooting off the bench, as they’re seriously lacking in any realistic three-point shooting threat. Osman won’t save the season on his own but he’ll help.
