The Utah Jazz are taking on the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday, and these are three reasons to watch.
The Utah Jazz are all set to try again on Friday night at 9:30 PM, as the Los Angeles Clippers are coming to town. The Jazz will host the Clippers for what will end up being the first encounter between the two in the regular season, but the third between the two clubs since the preseason began. The Jazz have so far split their preseason matchups with them, one apiece, but now the games matter.
Now, it’s the regular season, and every win, and loss, matters. But sometimes that’s not enough to tune in, so why should you tune in to watch the Jazz and Clippers collide once again?
Well, we have some ideas.
Redemption
The Utah Jazz shot just 26% from three against the Clippers in the preseason and looked awful. The defense was lacking, the shooting was inconsistent. It was a mess. It was not the outing you were hoping for as a Jazz fan. Granted, it was just the preseason, but it’s still a sign that the Jazz may not be able to match up against the Clippers or teams like them. So, a big win tonight would be a form of redemption for the awful back-to-back outings the Jazz suffered through.
The Stars at Night
Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler are the two teams we hear most about on the Jazz, but the Clippers have their own stars; namely Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and Kawhi Leonard. It’s uncommon to see the three men together on the court, as injuries have limited George and Leonard, but all three men are expected to play against the Jazz.
Bounce Back
The Utah Jazz need to bounce back after a horrible start. They’re 0-1 on the season and the lasting image of the Jazz was their perimeter defense getting torched by Harrison Barnes. Barnes, once, was a near-All-Star player but he’s slowed in his recent years. Getting beat by him isn’t good, and the Jazz need to show up against three potential Hall of Famers and let the NBA know that the opening game of the season was a fluke.
