Jordan Clarkson’s stock is at an all-time high.

The FIBA World Cup often brings the best out of its players. No matter what country you are from, or how big or small your profile is, the international contest is usually a showcase for the best in the game of basketball. And while it’s fair to say that no player, especially no player from the Utah Jazz, left the tournament with a lower profile than they entered, few can say their profile rose as much as Jordan Clarkson.

Clarkson, who is either going to be the team’s starting two-guard or key sixth man off the bench, came into the tournament with a huge weight on his shoulders. He came in as the key cog with the Philippines, hoping to lead them to a surprising run of success in the 2023 games. The Philippines were unable to surprise too many teams, finishing their first round with a 0-3 record, and a final record of 1-4 through the two rounds of group play.

But while the Philippines didn’t win many games, they were in most of them, and that as due to Clarkson. Not only did he drag the Philippines to compete at a higher level than many expected, in Clarkson’s final game of the tournament, while playing in the Classification Round of Group Play, he dropped 20 points in less than five minutes, setting the internet on fire.

After the performance, where the Philippines won their first game of the World Cup, Clarkson made sure to spread the love around, giving his teammates a lot of credit for his stellar outing, telling the media (via Clutch Points)

"The basket just felt big at that point. We had a good flow. In that third quarter, my teammates were just finding me. We started getting good screens and good looks. I was just able to knock shots down."

Clarkson earned a lot of brownie points among the Jazz fandom for not only the way he played but for the way he respected and praised his teammates. Clarkson clearly looks like he’s ready to cook on all cylinders this year, and if that’s the case, the West better look out for the Jazz.
