Team USA and Walker Kessler make their 2023 FIBA World Cup debut against Puerto Rico.
The Utah Jazz will have five players in the upcoming FIBA World Cup, and most of them have already debuted in tune-up games. Lauri Markkanen will lead Team Finland, Kelly Olynyk will be one of the key bigs for Team Canada, Jordan Clarkson will take point for Team Philippines, and Simone Fontecchio will try to lead Team Italy without Danilo Gallinari.
For Team USA, it’s a younger squad, and players like Walker Kessler will look to lead the way for the team. It’s a team of potential and upside, and while it isn’t near the Olympic Team’s levels of stardom, the FIBA World Cup squad is anchored by some great young talent.
One of whom is Walker Kessler. Kessler is looking to make an impact for Team USA, and in the process, raise his seasonal expectations for the Utah Jazz in the process. So while some has-beens talk about the team’s roster as “sorry-ass”, many are excited to see what this young roster can do. Not everyone is as down on this team as some, and they have a very good shot of making it out of group play.
So here is how you can watch the future of the Utah Jazz and the NBA, starting on Monday, Aug 8, 2023.
