The Utah Jazz have signed Johnny Juzang to a two-way contract.

The Utah Jazz had a nice run in the Summer League, despite massive amounts of injuries taking hold at the end. Despite not having two of their three rookies for all of the Summer League, and a third going down later (Keyonte George), the Jazz’s young crop of players rallied to get the team an undefeated, 4-0 record, while in the standard part of Summer League. They would go on to lose in the playoffs but only had a skeleton crew due to the lack of healthy bodies. One of those bodies that the team missed, Johnny Juzang was a huge surprise for the club.

Juzang, who played some for the Jazz in the 2022-2023 season, returned to the club for the two Summer Leagues, the first in Utah where he played two games, and again for the “official” Summer League in Las Vegas, where he played four games and started one.

He shot very well during his six Summer League games, and compiled a 51.5% percentage from three, shooting five shots per game from behind the arc. His shooting was inspired and it’s likely why the Utah Jazz signed him to a two-way contract for this upcoming season.

The Utah Jazz now have all three of their two-way contracts filled with the Juzang contract. Joining him on similar contracts are undrafted rookie Joey Hauser from Michigan State (by way of Marquette), and 2021 undrafted free agent, Micha Potter out of Wisconsin.

Hauser is an undrafted free-agent forward who will try and vie for minutes with the Jazz this season, while Potter has traveled around the league some. He played for the Miami Heat’s G-League team as a rookie, before getting picked up by the Detroit Pistons. In 2022, Potter went from Detroit to Utah, and now he and Hauser will try and vie for time at either forward spot.

Juzang is the only guard on a two-way deal for the Jazz.
