The Utah Jazz’s Summer League outing came to a close with a skeleton crew but the team still had some players step up.

The Utah Jazz were unable to get the win in their Summer League playoff match against the Houston Rocket on Sunday night. The Jazz were dealing with a serious amount of injuries, as the squad was missing out on not just the three rookies from the 2023 NBA Draft, but also the heroes from the prior game.

In Game 4 of the Summer League, Luka Samanic and Johnny Juzang were a big reason the Jazz were able to finish the regular Las Vegas Summer League season undefeated, but heading into the playoff game, both men were out. That didn’t help things, as both men did well from three, and that was something the Jazz struggled with in their loss to the Houston Rockets.

The team shot just 26.7% from three, a number that would’ve been better had the Jazz had their core young pieces. That doesn’t mean the team just rolled over, however, despite losing 115-101, the skeleton crew for the Jazz really did try their best and these were the three we were most impressed with.

Colbey Ross

With 20 points, six rebounds, and six assists, it’s hard to say that Colbey Ross could’ve done better. Sure, he only shot 3-10 from three, but he did shoot 7-16 overall. He didn’t turn the ball over much (just twice), and for the most part, was impactful against a game Rockets.

Micah Potter

His 4-17 from three-point was awful, but he did shoot 4-5 from inside the three-point line. Not only that, but he did pull down 12 rebounds. He likely had the green light to shoot, and it seems Potter needs more time in the gym before he’s ready to take 17 three-point shots in an actual NBA game.

Keshawn Justice

While not as bad as Potter, Keshawn Justice also had a rough three-point shooting night, going 2-9 from three. What Justice did well, just as with Potter, was pulling down a nice amount of rebounds, with nine.
