10 Low-risk, high-reward free agent targets for Utah Jazz
Wenyen Gabriel
Wenyen Gabriel has bounced around quite a bit throughout the first three years of his career, but he did seem to find his footing a bit over the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers (before he fell out of the team’s rotation when the team completely revamped their supporting cast at the NBA Trade Deadline).
Gabriel averaged seven points and four rebounds on 51 percent shooting from the field in 19 games with the Lakers last season and six points and four rebounds on 60 percent shooting from the field in 68 games played in Los Angeles this season.
Though his future is very much up in the air with all the moving pieces that Los Angeles will have to juggle over the course of the next few months.
Gabriel is heading into the offseason as an unrestricted free agent, and considering that the Lakers will be looking at big-picture moves this offseason, it’s likely that another team could swoop in and pry Gabriel away from Los Angeles. And you’d have to imagine that it will be a rebuilding team (like the Jazz) that ends up taking a flier on a young but talented big man.
