5 potential Collin Sexton trades for the Utah Jazz to consider

5 potential Collin Sexton trades for the Utah Jazz to consider: Phoenix Suns & LA Clippers
Suns receive: Collin Sexton, Eric Gordon
Clippers receive: Chris Paul, Rudy Gay
Jazz receive: Brandon Boston Jr., Robert Covington, Cameron Payne, 2026 1st-Round Pick (Swap with PHX), 2028 1st-Round Pick (via LAC)
For the LA Clippers, this deal would be all about getting their point guard. They would bank on one final year with the current core, adding Chris Paul. He may be in the final years of his career, but he can still organize an offense.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns will be rounding out their roster a bit. Collin Sexton isn’t as good of a playmaker, but he’s younger than Paul, and Eric Gordon would give them some improved depth.
Lastly, this deal would likely leave Utah Jazz fans with an empty feeling.
In the short term, the Jazz wouldn’t be any better. If their goal is to immediately compete for a Play-In spot with Markkanen, then this trade wouldn’t help.
However, it would be a very forward-thinking move. Both of the draft picks they would be receiving have the potential to be fairly valuable.
The 2026 Suns pick is the less valuable of the two, as Phoenix would still likely be a playoff team at that point, despite the fact that Kevin Durant may be retired.
That being said, the 2028 Clippers pick would likely be a lottery pick. Unless the Clippers manage to flip Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Paul by then, they’ll probably be at the beginning of a mini-rebuild.
And on top of that, the Jazz would take a chance on Brandon Boston Jr., who has shown flashes of real potential in the G League.
