5 potential Collin Sexton trades for the Utah Jazz to consider: Washington Wizards
Wizards receive: Collin Sexton
Jazz receive: Johnny Davis, Delon Wright, 2026 1st-Round Pick (Top-5 Protected), 2027 2nd-Round Pick
For the past few seasons, the Washington Wizards have lived in a state of mediocrity. Instead of hitting the rebuild button, they’ve chosen to attempt to build around Bradley Beal.
Heading into this offseason, they’re looking to follow that same path, and trading for someone like Collin Sexton could help them. Giving up on Johnny Davis—one of the most disappointing rookies from this past season—should be an easy choice if they hope to compete for a Play-In spot.
And while giving up a first-round pick may not make sense if the Wizards aren’t going to be a playoff team, they seem intent on competing with Beal, so they may be willing to give up draft capital.
Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz would get to take a chance on a player who was a top-10 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. He may not have shown much in Washington, but on a team with zero expectations, he would have much more freedom.
As Utah learned with Markkanen, sometimes a player just needs a new environment in order to reach their full potential. Plus, with just one year of NBA experience, Davis still has plenty of time to grow.
Adding Delon Wright would give the Jazz another competent ballhandler to help on both ends of the court. After giving up Mike Conley at the deadline, they could use more veteran help.
But most importantly, getting the Wizards’ 2026 draft pick would be the main priority in this deal. By that time, who knows who will be on the team? The Wizards could be in full rebuild mode, making the pick extremely valuable.
