5 potential Collin Sexton trades for the Utah Jazz to consider: Atlanta Hawks
Hawks receive: Collin Sexton, Kelly Olynyk
Jazz receive: John Collins, Garrison Matthews
For the past few seasons, the Atlanta Hawks have reportedly been looking to trade John Collins. Yet every season, the trade deadline comes and goes, and Collins is still on the squad.
But after another first-round exit this year, Atlanta could look to make some actual moves. Adding another ballhandler into the mix may seem a bit backward with Trae Young and Dejounte Murray on the roster, but the Hawks could use someone coming off the bench in that sort of role.
Plus, if the relationship between Young and the Hawks breaks down at all, as has been rumored in the past year, having an extra guard on the roster could be useful.
Meanwhile, Kelly Olynyk would slot into their rotation as a floor-spacing big who could play alongside Clint Capela or Onyeka Okongwu or a center who can play on his own if the Hawks want to play five-out.
As for the Utah Jazz, throwing Collins into the lineup would allow them to play huge with Lauri Markkanen at small forward, along with Collins and Walker Kessler rounding out the frontcourt. Plus, the Wake Forest alum would have more freedom to develop his game in Utah, as he’s been fairly limited in Atlanta for the past season or two.
And the Jazz could also take a chance on Garrison Matthews. With Will Hardy’s three-point-heavy system, they could be stumbling on a new Duncan Robinson or Sam Hauser.
