The Bucks might overpay

The Milwaukee Bucks have been rather disappointing. One could make the case that Giannis is the most athletically gifted player ever, and with a solid supporting cast, the Bucks should have won more than a single title. As their core ages, the Bucks should do anything in their power to win as many rings as possible as soon as they can.

The Bucks were 27th in bench points last year, scoring only 27.8 points per game. Last year, Clarkson averaged 15.9 points per game off the bench, so he could single handily revitalize the Bucks’ bench unit.

The trade above would be a home run. I’ve already outlined why the Bucks might overpay for Clarkson, and this deal would bring fan favorite Joe Ingles back, a much improved familiar face in Grayson Allen, and a solid young wing who could be a part of Utah’s rebuild. Unfortunately, the Bucks only have one first-round pick to give, but it is supplemented by five second-round picks, which could be packaged no move up in future drafts.

The Jazz received criticism for not sending Donovan Mitchell to a preferred destination, but I’m sure sending Clarkson to a true contender would rectify any wrongs the Jazz may have committed.

Utah will never be a big free agent destination, but sending Clarkson away in an act of good faith would certainly be a push in the right direction.
