The Grizzlies could use Clarkson to win a ring

Last year, the Memphis Grizzlies posted the second-best record in the league and firmly planted themselves as contenders. With an amazing young core and a superstar to build around, the Grizzlies are here to stay, and will only get better as the years pass by.

The Grizzlies were the second-best scoring team in 2021-22, and their bench was the sixth-best scoring bench in the league. They don’t need the firepower, but with Utah ready to tear it all down, Memphis could add even more scoring, giving them one of the best offenses we have ever seen.

The Jazz do not need Danny Green. A three-time NBA Champion well past his prime, Green tore his ACL and LCL last season. While he believes he will make a comeback this season, the injury could spell the end of his career. He is owed $10 million next year and is a free agent after that, so he could retire or ring chase for his final seasons in the league. For taking him on, the Jazz would get two picks instead of one, although let’s face it: those could both be the 30th pick in their respective drafts.

Two picks are almost always better than one, but the Jazz do not get a player back in this deal.
