1. The Cavaliers are going to be good, so the picks may not be

The Cleveland Cavaliers are certainly an ascending team in the Eastern Conference, and with stars like Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley, it’s clear that this team is just getting started, and should be good for quite a long time. Unfortunately for the Jazz, that doesn’t bode well for their upcoming unprotected draft picks, because if this team pans out the way many expect, those picks could come very late in the first round, and be less valuable then picks from a different team may have been.

When it comes down too it, there’s been some amazing talent come through the league late in first rounds, with names like Tyrese Maxey, Immanuel Quickley, Desmond Bane and so many others in recent years, but it is much easier to hit in the draft when your picks fall in the lottery. We’ve never seen draft pick hauls like this for players who aren’t considered Top-10 in the league however, so while this may be overall considered a win by most, when you break it down, these picks may end up being less valuable than many expect.
