5. Jeff Hornacek

Career numbers: 14.4 PPG, 4.0 APG, 2.8 RPG, 477 GP, 2-time NBA 3-Point contest winner.

Jeff Hornacek is often synonymous with the Jazz teams of the late 1990’s, and it shocks some beyond Jazz fans to know that he was only in Utah for a short while, because he played such a key role alongside Karl Malone and John Stockton in reaching back-to-back Finals in 1996 and 1997. From 1993 to 2000, Hornacek was one of the best three point shooters in the NBA, shooting 43% from beyond the arc, and while he never rose to stardom or made an All-Star squad, those Jazz teams wouldn’t have been the same without him.

Overall, his game was very solid, and he fit into this team quite well, and even if some of the players ranked behind him on this list have more talent and overall skillset, he played his part perfectly, and became a great role player for this squad.

His coaching career has been less than stellar, but for seven years, Hornacek was beloved in Utah (even if he wasn’t at all outside of it), and while Utah couldn’t climb the mountain top, he was a huge part of the reason they got the chance in the first place.
