The Utah Jazz are quickly amassing a stockpile of draft picks, including the four first rounders they picked up in the Rudy Golbert trade. In fact, if they get their way, they could add six more picks in a Donovan Mitchell deal. Even more, if they move Bogan Bogdanovic, Mike Conley, Pat Beverly, and Jordan Clarkson.

With all of those draft picks potentially heading the team’s way, it leads to questions about how they could use those selections. Therefore, let’s look at three things the Jazz can do with all their draft capital.

Target young talent

If the Jazz go the full rebuild route, it could take a while before they’re able to add top-tier young talent to the roster. Fortunately, with so many draft picks, they can get creative with how they go about acquiring those players. The most obvious way is through the draft, but the Jazz could also use their picks to try and trade for talented young players.

OG Anunoby and DeAndre Ayton are two young players who match that description and could be available. The Jazz don’t yet have the draft capital or cap space to trade for either, but they may soon have both. If and when that happens, the Jazz could try and bowl Toronto or Phoenix over with picks and financial savings to land a young franchise cornerstone.

On the other hand, the Jazz may prefer to start from scratch. In that case, trading for a talented young player might speed up their rebuild faster than they’d like. Instead, they may be angling for a top-five pick in next year’s draft, which would put them in a position to select a future star. Despite that, using their extra picks to try and trade for another talented young player should be an option in the near future.
