The Utah Jazz had a somewhat disappointing Salt Lake City Summer League, but with a team lacking superstar, blue-chip prospects, no one was surprised. Thankfully, that didn’t matter to this team as they showed up to Las Vegas and began their campaign with a 72-66, looking like a much more well-rounded squad than the one we saw leave Utah a few days ago.

Sure, they are still lacking a prospect that’s pushing the NBA roster immediately and making headlines around Las Vegas, but for Jazz fans, to see the improvement in the team as a whole from the last few days is promising, and this is a team that could really make some noise over the next week. Next up is the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, and after tonight’s performance, the Jazz could go on a quick run here in Summer League.

But that’s Monday, today we are going to take a look back on Utah’s latest performance, and give three big takeaways from a resounding victory to kick off the annual Las Vegas Summer League tournament.

3. The Utah Jazz have had three consistent performers in Summer League

The Utah Jazz have head to have a single player stand up head and shoulders above the competition or even his teammates, but over the past 3 games, they’ve had three names that have consistently performed and led this team, as they start Las Vegas Summer League by taking their record to 1-0. James Palmer Jr. and Jared Butler were expected to be solid for this team, but the name that has been standing out over the past three games most of all is Brazillian center, Bruno Caboclo.

He may not have any outstanding features or assets to his game, but he has proven to be a solid passer, a good athlete and an overall good teammate for this squad, and Jazz fans have certainly been taking note. Butler and Palmer have been doing a lot of scoring, and while names such as Xavier Sneed have popped up with bursts of scoring, the consistency is what’s setting these three apart from the rest.

There’s still a long way to go in Summer League, and we will no doubt see other names step up and show what they’ve got to offer the Jazz, but for now, if the team wants to string some wins together, it seems that these are the three names that will lead them there.
