The Utah Jazz may not have selected anyone in last Thursday’s NBA Draft, but they managed to sign a few young un-drafted players, and the Salt Lake City Summer League is the perfect opportunity for those guys, as well as other young, hungry players to make their mark and impress the Jazz front office. Joining the Jazz at this years Summer League will be the Eastern Conference powerhouse Philadelphia 76ers, the up and coming stars in the West, the Memphis Grizzlies, and the potentially fantastic Oklahoma City Thunder, who may feature the likes of Josh Giddey and Chet Holmgren.

The Salt Lake City Summer League will take place from July 5-7, before the team heads out to Nevada to join the rest of the NBA, and even if there isn’t a name like Holmgren, Ivey, Smith or Banchero on this roster, their performance could lead to plenty of depth in Utah for the year ahead.

The roster could be in potential flux by the time the NBA pre-season rolls around, and if the Jazz do end up moving on from Donovan Mitchell or Rudy Gobert, then the Summer League performances will matter even more, as this team could use some young players to supplement this playoff squad. While not the most important tournament in the world, Summer League always offers a fun look at top prospects and un-drafted rookies alike, and it allows players who haven’t had the spotlight to step up and make their mark, and that’s exactly what Utah fans and the front office will be hoping for next month.
