Utah Jazz potential opponent #1: Dallas Mavericks
We don’t feel compelled to write out an entire slide here. We could easily just type “the Mavericks have Luka Doncic” and move on to some different work.
That’s how good the Slovenian sensation is. He’s arguably having a down year, if you can consider 28.2 points, 9.3 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game down.
He’s one of the most dynamic offensive players in the NBA, but he isn’t alone either. Many observers felt that the Mavericks downgraded at this year’s deadline. Apparently, Spencer Dinwiddie took issue with that. He’s been on a tear since joining the squad.
Otherwise, Jalen Brunson is having a career year, Davis Bertans is hitting threes again, and Dorian Finney-Smith is a defensive dynamo.
Granted, they’re not the deepest team in the National Basketball Association. The Utah Jazz have a substantial advantage on them in that regard. Still, this series would likely come down to the wire.
After all: the Mavericks have Luka Doncic.
Still, the Utah Jazz have a lot of talent to make up that ground. Any one of these teams would challenge them in the first round. Possibly just not as much as the Jazz would challenge them.
