Utah Jazz Free Agent Target #1: Joe Ingles

Surprised? You shouldn’t be. Should you?

We’re not sure. We’re kind of joking. We’re dead serious at the same time. Depending on the price point, we’d love to see the Utah Jazz reunite with Joe Ingles.

We’re throwing the stats out the window with this one. We know Ingles is a sharpshooter from distance. We know he’s lost a step on defense. We’re a Utah Jazz page: of course we know Joe Ingles!

He’s a franchise icon. He’ll also be recovering from an ACL injury: in all likelihood, nobody’s shelling out a max contract slot for his services. He should be affordable.

The Jazz should reunite with him. It’s good for the locker room, good for the fans, and good for the narrative.

A team in good spirits plays together. Joe Ingles has a reputation for putting his team in good spirits.

Of course, the Utah Jazz should only target him after, at a minimum, Tucker and Prince. With the modest price Ingles is likely to command in free agency, they should be able to acquire him in tandem with at least one of them.
