Utah Jazz vs Oklahoma City Thunder Takeaway #3: Bojan Bogdanovic is an X-Factor

We already mentioned how Mitchell’s ability to draw defensive attention benefits the Utah Jazz. Last night, you might say it benefitted Bojan Bogdanovic.

The same way a human being benefits from air.

Bogdanovic had 35 points last night, shooting 11/19 from the field. Of those 19 field goal attempts, one of them wasn’t a three-pointer. Yes, you read that correctly. Bogdanovic finished shooting 11/18 from three-point range.

It wasn’t just an incredible night: it was historic. In fact, Bogey went a little further than he needed to in order to make history. He only needed 4 threes to pass Mehmet Okur on the Jazz’s all-time three-point list.

That’s perfectly OK. When it comes to three-point makes, more is always better.

We’ve mentioned in the past that Bogdanovic tends to either explode, or disappear. He’s an ancillary option in this Utah Jazz offense. He’s a safety valve: the guy that can take over when the usual guys can’t.

Arguably, the Utah Jazz don’t need consistency from the sharpshooting veteran. His threat to put up performances like last night’s is sometimes enough.

The Utah Jazz should hold off on the parade after easily beating the Oklahoma City Thunder. They’ll face a tougher challenge against the Dallas Mavericks in tonight’s action.
