Utah Jazz stud: Bojan Bogdanovic

Bojan Bogdanovic is making a habit of stepping up for the Jazz when he’s needed. That’s a habit that Quin Snyder will certainly encourage.

It feels like any night that Mitchell is unavailable, Bogdanovic increases his volume without compromising his accuracy. It doesn’t feel like a function of fit either. Bogdanovic’s elite floor spacing does wonders for Mitchell’s driving lanes. However, when Mitchell is absent, Bogdanovic is capable of making the transformation from role player to part-time star.

That’s exactly what happened last night. Bogey finished with 23 points on 7/15 shooting from the field and 3/6 shooting from three-point range.

Most of Bogdanovic’s offense came in one of two ways last night. Either a teammate found him for an open (or semi-open) jumper, or he found his own way to the free throw line. In some ways, he functioned as he typically does for the Jazzmen, just a little more prominently.

We recently named Bogdanovic as the least tradeable player on the Jazz between him, Joe Ingles and Jordan Clarkson. He certainly vindicated that position last night. His ability to space the floor while moonlighting as a shot creator would be a difficult combination for the Jazz to part with.

If the front office had any thoughts of doing so, he made a compelling argument against those thoughts in last night’s action.
