Utah Jazz vs Milwaukee Bucks
There isn’t much to say here. The Bucks may have a lower winning percentage (61.4) than the Jazz. They’re also the defending NBA champions. They’ve struggled to keep their key players on the floor throughout the season. When they have played with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton, they’ve looked like the juggernaut everyone expects them to be.
Utah Jazz vs Memphis Grizzlies
Time sure does fly sometimes. It feels impossible that the Memphis Grizzlies are third in Bleacher Report’s Power Rankings. Surely, they don’t deserve placement over the Utah Jazz?
Well, they’ve won 11 games in a row. We’ll basically leave it at that. They’re ahead of the Jazz in the Western Conference standings, and deserve to be in these Power Rankings as well.
Utah Jazz vs Golden State Warriors
The Warriors have been on a bit of a skid themselves lately. Klay Thompson’s return has not gone as smoothly as they surely hoped, and Draymond Green is injured. Meanwhile, Steph Curry is playing as if he might be a mortal, regular old human being. They’re still two spots ahead of the Jazz in the Power Rankings. It may be painful to admit, but they’ve been better than the Jazz all season long, and that continues to be the case.
Utah Jazz vs Phoenix Suns
You really can’t debate this one. The Suns are atop Bleacher Report’s Power Rankings. If you think the Jazz deserve the pole position, you need to have an honest conversation with yourself. The Suns have the best record in the NBA, and as it stands, they’re the best team in the NBA. End of discussion.
The Utah Jazz have plenty of time to climb in Power Rankings. This NBA season is still relatively young. In the meantime, this seventh overall ranking feels entirely fair.
