Joe Ingles finds himself in a bit of a different situation compared to Clarkson and Forrest. As a scoring guard, Clarkson will be responsible for replacing Mitchell in terms of role. In turn, Forrest will be responsible for replacing Clarkson.

Joe Ingles is quite literally replacing Donovan Mitchell in this Utah Jazz starting lineup.

In all likelihood, Jingles is up to the task. Against the Spurs, he finished with 17 points, shooting 6/10 from the field and 4/7 from downtown. Ingles won’t relentlessly attack in isolation like his more talented teammate. That’s never been his style.

He can, however, get a bucket when it’s needed. Otherwise, Ingles plies his trade by taking smart shots, making smart passes, and doing the dirty work. His job description won’t change in Mitchell’s absence, but his workload might.

For the second time this year, he’ll be on the floor for the Utah Jazz at the opening tip.

Donovan Mitchell is irreplaceable to the Utah Jazz. He is inarguably one of their two most important players alongside Rudy Gobert. However, with such a deep cast of talented players, the team may be able to survive his absence, as long as it isn’t prolonged.
