1991-92 Utah Jazz Record: 55-27, Lost in Western Conference Finals vs Portland Trail Blazers 2-4

The Stockton and Malone era of Utah Jazz basketball was marked by consistency more than anything else. It’s hard to distinguish the 1991-92 Jazz from other versions of the Jazz.

Malone was still setting picks and rolling, and Stockton was still finding him under the basket. Mark Eaton was still aging, and the duo of stars were probably still wishing his prime had intersected more closely with theirs. Thuri Bailey and Blue Edwards were still contributing, although the latter had usurped the former in the offensive pecking order by 1991-92.

There was another consistent theme during this era of Jazz basketball: success. This Utah Jazz team enjoyed (another) 55 win season, and advanced to the Western Conference Finals before losing to a Portland Trail Blazers squad featuring Clifford Robinson, Jerome Kersey, Terry Porter and Clyde “The Glide” Drexler.
