2020-21 Utah Jazz Record: 52-20, Lost in Western Conference Semifinals vs Los Angeles Clippers 2-4
Unless you started following basketball this year, you probably don’t need a thorough write-up on last season’s Utah Jazz. Swap Derrick Favors and Georges Niang for Hassan Whiteside and Rudy Gay, and you’ve essentially got the same squad.
This group was disappointed to lose to the Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference Semifinals. Between Mike Conley’s sporadic health and the Clippers utilizing an effective small-ball strategy that neutralized Rudy Gobert, the Jazz dropped a competitive series.
It was still a successful year. The Jazz’s .722 win percentage was the fifth highest in NBA history, and it was the first time the club finished with the best record in the NBA. Jazz fans would take a repeat of the regular season this year, with a different outcome in the playoffs.
