The next time you hear someone say the Jazz is better in Utah than New Orleans, make sure they’re not talking about the Utah Jazz as a franchise before you rush to correct them. If they are, proceed to correcting their grammar.

The Jazz’s storied history may have started in the Big Easy, but it really found its footing in the land of the big mountains. Nonetheless, there are fond memories to be found in its New Orleans lineage (many of which are attached to one flashy, NRA nickname-approved point guard).

This franchise has seen its share of ups and downs. Having said that, they’ve been remarkably consistent for a long time as by far the most winning franchise to stop short of winning an NBA championship in league history.

The early years were rough, as they tend to be. Fans in New Orleans were not treated to a great deal of success, and even the beginnings in Utah were humble. Once they got off the ground, however, they never really landed. Since the early 1990s, the Utah Jazz securing a ticket to the NBA playoffs has been almost as safe a bet as death and taxes.

In some seasons, they’ve advanced further than in others. Here, we’ll cover every season in the Jazz’s franchise history, allowing older readers to reminisce and younger ones to learn.

Without further ado, here is every season in Jazz history, ranked.
