In the fourth contest of their five-game stretch at home, the Utah Jazz will hope to get back on track in Vivint Arena when they host the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night.
Utah is coming off losses in back-to-back home games at the hands of the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat. And the team has dropped four of its past five. Meanwhile, Philadelphia is dealing with struggles of its own, having lost four straight, with the first three taking place on its homecourt before a 118-113 defeat at Indiana on Saturday.
The Jazz (8-5) and Sixers (8-6) are both just a week or so removed from sitting atop their respective standings following hot starts to their 2021-22 campaigns. As it is, though, Utah has fallen to No. 5 in the Western Conference while Philadelphia has dropped to No. 6 in the Eastern Conference.
Utah Jazz vs Philadelphia 76ers Odds Tonight
According to WynnBet, Utah is now a 10.5-point favorite against Philadelphia and a -475 money line favorite. The Sixers are currently a +375 money line underdog.
The over/under is at 215.5 points.
Utah Jazz Starting Lineup Tonight
Once again, Utah will likely roll out its full-time starting five in Mike Conley, Donovan Mitchell, Royce O’Neale, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Rudy Gobert.
Utah Jazz Injury Report
Although Rudy Gay (right heel injury recovery) finally took part in a full practice this week after coming to the Jazz via free agency this summer, the 35-year-old remains out against the Sixers, per the team’s Twitter account. Also worth noting, deep reserve Elijah Hughes (non-COVID illness) is still questionable for Utah.
Other than that, the squad appears to be fully healthy.
Utah Jazz vs Philadelphia 76ers Prediction
Neither team has given its fans much reason for confidence in recent games. However, keep in mind that none of their combined 11 losses have been by more than 13 points this season. Plus, the Jazz and Sixers have displayed some prowess this year after starting with stretches that totaled a 15-3 record between the two teams.
But Philadelphia is without star center Joel Embiid (health and safety protocols), whose four-game absence thus far has coincided with the four-game losing streak. Matisse Thybulle (health and safety protocols) and Danny Green (hamstring) won’t be on the floor either.
So Utah seems more likely than Philly to see a bounce-back victory on Tuesday night.
Yet covering the spread or topping the over/under is no guarantee given this Jazz bunch’s dismal outside shooting, including a 17-for-53 clip from three in the latest loss to the Heat that matched their 32.1 percent for the season. Maybe they finally find their hot hand, but that’s not a safe assumption these days.
Prediction: Jazz 107, Sixers 100
