At 6-1, the Utah Jazz as a whole are certainly entitled to an A+ on their report card. They’re tied with two Eastern Conference foes in the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls for the best record in the entire NBA. It’s taken a well-rounded effort to get the Jazzmen in that position. Their 111.8 Offensive Rating ranks fifth in the league, while their 100.0 Defensive Rating places them fourth. It has historically been a mark of a champion to post a top 5 rating in both of those categories, and neither of those marks feels unsustainable.

As consistent as the Jazz have been on both ends of the floor, their performance has been slightly inconsistent when viewed through a wider lens. Some of their rotation regulars have been outstanding, and some of them have struggled mightily.

We’ll be assigning letter grades to each of the leading 10 members of the Utah Jazz in terms of minutes per game. Arguably, cutting the exercise off at 10 is arbitrary: there is actually very little difference between the 10th and 11th man in this rotation in terms of minutes played.

Two words: oh well! A 10-man rotation is pretty standard fare in the NBA, and we had to designate a cut-off somewhere. In all likelihood, these are the only 10 players on the Jazz that are likely to see even a minute of action in the 2021-22 NBA Playoffs.

Having said that, even the 9th and 10th men listed here may not get on the floor in the postseason. It’s not uncommon for playoff rotations to shrink to 9, and Rudy Gay’s impending comeback will likely push one or two of these guys further down in the pecking order.

For the time being, here are report cards for every member of the regular rotation for the Utah Jazz so far in 2021-22.
