His dazzling displays weren’t a perfect match for the Utah Jazz. That said, Ricky Rubio — a former No. 5 overall draft pick from 2009 to the Minnesota Timberwolves, which is now again the 30-year-old’s NBA home — was relatively productive, and on both ends of the floor, during his recent two-year stay in Salt Lake City.
In fact, those two seasons account for two of the active 10-year NBA veteran’s top three season scoring averages to date. Plus, don’t overlook the fact Rubio finished No. 12 in the league with his 1.6 steals in 2017-18 or the fact that he was money from the foul line.
Furthermore, the 6-foot-3 guard from Spain was a full-time starter in both seasons with the Jazz, and both those squads hovered around the 50-win mark in the regular season.
