If the Utah Jazz decide to move on from Rudy Gobert, they may be able to net an All-Star player in return. These are three names that stood out among the rest.

The suspended 2019-20 season has given a major twist to the Utah Jazz. Once viewed as a team that could contend for a championship, the Jazz are now in a difficult spot that could eventually see them dealing their All-Star center, Rudy Gobert.

Gobert and his teammate, Donovan Mitchell, may have made progress towards improving their relationship, but the trade speculation isn’t going to go away. Gobert will be one of the more popular names on the rumor mill for the next few months.

The Jazz are going to extend Donovan Mitchell, and if they have doubts about his pairing with Gobert in the future, or simply paying Gobert a ton of money, the trade becomes a realistic option.

What follows said trade will have a direct impact on Utah’s future. They can trade Gobert for draft compensation and look to build more towards the future, or they can look to acquire an All-Star caliber player in return.

Remember, this isn’t something that the Jazz have to do. While it may upset fans, the possibility of moving on from Gobert has to be viewed as a legitimate option. Seriously, it hurts me just as much as anyone else. I love that man and what he has done for this team.

Draft compensation is always nice, but if the Utah Jazz eventually do decide to trade Gobert, I see them looking more towards a move that allows them to compete right away. Take Gobert off this team and things will probably get ugly, but if you get an All-Star in return, they may be able to remain in playoff contention in the Western Conference.

With that being said, let’s take a look at three former All-Star players that could be good matches in a trade for Rudy Gobert.
