Utah Jazz guard Mike Conley took down Tamika Catchings, Chauncey Billups and Zach LaVine to win the NBA’s HORSE competition.

With no NBA basketball right now, fans are desperate for some entertainment, so the NBA decided to hold a HORSE competition. This competition included Utah Jazz guard Mike Conley, as well as several other NBA/WNBA players.

It’s not a regular season game, or a playoff game, but it’s something, right? At least Utah Jazz fans had someone to root for in Conley, who turned out to be the only player with an indoor basketball gym, perhaps giving him an advantage.

Conley’s first test was former Indiana Fever forward and soon to be Hall of Famer, Tamika Catchings. Right off the bat, you could see Conley had an advantage, considering Catchings’ hoop was outdoors and she was battling the cold weather.

Catchings gave it her best, but Conley came away with an easy victory. Up next, he faced Chauncey Billups in the second round. With a series of difficult shots with both the left and right hand, Conley was able to get past the former NBA Champion.

In the finale, Conley went up against Chicago’s Zach LaVine. LaVine was tripping everyone up by using his athleticism to his advantage, but Conley got the better of him in this one with off-hand three-pointers, eyes-closed free-throws and best of all, a finger-rolling punch shot. Yes, you heard that right.

Conley came to play and got a well earned victory. It doesn’t mean anything at all, but it was fun to see some players participate in this and get a closer look at some of their living conditions.

All we can do now is hope that the NBA resumes play at some point. It’s totally understandable if they don’t, but man, I just want to see Conley and my Utah Jazz back on the court. It feels like it’s been an eternity since an NBA basketball game.

Is Mike Conley becoming the HORSE Champion a sign that the Utah Jazz are future NBA Champions? Kidding aside, congratulations to Conley on the win and I hope everyone stays safe during these tough times.
