Deron Williams

Over the past few days especially, I’ve found myself on YouTube searching up old Deron Williams clips. The former Utah Jazz guard had one of the prettiest crossovers and jumpers in the entire league and has (for the most part) regained the love from Jazz fans after his bitter exit in 2011.

Williams hasn’t played in the NBA since 2017, but he isn’t officially retired. If he wants to hoop again, the BIG3 would certainly be a fun option. He’s only 35 years old and remains in good playing shape.

He’s one of the more iconic players in Utah Jazz history. The Deron Williams era came after the John Stockton/Karl Malone. He was a superstar point guard for many years, and at one point, he was the very best lead guard in the entire league, in my opinion.

Williams had some immaturity issues earlier in his career, and he’s publicly discussed that in the past. He’s a much more laid back kind of guy now, and has learned from his mistakes. The reality-TV portion of this tournament would be interesting for everyone, including Williams.

I really miss watching Deron Williams play basketball. His game is so smooth and he was always one of the more underrated players in the world. It’s a shame that things didn’t work out for him in Utah, but it’s great seeing him at games occasionally and great to see him maintaining a home in Utah.

Most recently, Williams captured a hilarious moment with his former teammate Dirk Nowitzki. Check it out here and see how the Hall-of-Famer was stuck in the mud.

So, those were five players that would be awesome to see participate in the BIG3’s upcoming tournament. Some players, like Boozer and Johnson, are legit candidates, while others are just me using my imagination.

These Utah Jazz players were so fun to watch, man.
