Carlos Boozer

Carlos Boozer is one of two former Utah Jazz players with BIG3 experience on this list, making him a more realistic candidate compared to some of the others.

Boozer, the 6’9″ big man who was born in Germany, has spent two seasons in the BIG3. He was originally a co-captain with the Ghost Ballers, but was waived and quickly scooped up by Power, the team who won the leagues second championship.

Boozer was a two-time All-Star during his NBA career, with both appearances coming with the Utah Jazz. He enjoyed his best basketball in the state of Utah, and even averaged 21.1 points and 10.4 rebounds during the 2007-08 season.

When you think of some of the Utah Jazz alumni, Boozer isn’t the first guy you think of. I feel he’s always been a bit underrated during his career. He was a joy to watch in the pick-and-roll, and I always enjoyed him screaming “and-one!” after every shot attempt.

His game isn’t the sexiest, but Boozer always got the job done. Once his NBA days were over, Boozer spent time on TV as a analyst on NBA TV and ESPN. His experience in that department, as well as on the court, make him an ideal target for this tournament.

Plus, Boozer is a tough guy. I wouldn’t mind seeing him get into it with the other players and make some angry with his physical play and trash talking ways.
