Rudy Gobert remains the best player on the Utah Jazz

After representing the Utah Jazz during his first All-Star game, Rudy Gobert had struggled leading up to last night’s match-up with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Gobert needed a big game, and he delivered, annihilating the Cavaliers all night long. He finished the game with 20 points on 8-9 shooting, nine rebounds, five blocks and two steals. He looked like the All-Star and 2x Defensive Player of the Year we all know and love.

His teammates clearly went into the game with a mindset of finding Gobert more often. He was finishing everything around the rim and let the Cavaliers feel his presence from very early on. His offensive usage was limited after the All-Star break, but it wasn’t last night.

This performance did come against a front court that didn’t feature Andre Drummond and Tristan Thompson, who were out with injury, but nonetheless, he was dominant and did exactly what was expected.

This is the Rudy Gobert that we have seen throughout the majority of the season. Prior to the past five games, Gobert has been very consistent for the Jazz. They are going to need more games like this from him if they hope to close the season strong.

Rudy Gobert certainly gets an A+ for his performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers last night. He was the best player on the court and showed us all why he is still the best player on the Utah Jazz roster.
