Following Friday night’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs, the Utah Jazz are 1-7 wearing their Statement uniforms this season.

Gold hasn’t treated the Utah Jazz well this season. Many Jazz fans believe the gold statement uniforms are cursed. They’re obviously not, but it’s pretty interesting how bad the Jazz have played when wearing them.

Following the loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night, the Jazz lost their 7th game of the season while wearing the gold. Their other losses while wearing these uniforms were against the Toronto Raptors, Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Memphis Grizzlies, Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings.

Four of those teams are on track to make the playoffs, while the other three are on the outside looking in.

When the Jazz introduced their gold statement jerseys, it was a breath of fresh air. It was a nice change from the typical white, blue and green uniforms the Jazz donned prior to the NBA’s partnership with Nike. Now, Jazz fans are probably anxious for a new statement uniform.

The Jazz won’t wear their statement uniform again until March 13th, when they take on the New Orleans Pelicans. That will be Derrick Favors‘ first game back in Utah since being traded to the Pelicans. Overall, the Jazz will wear the gold four more times this season.

As I said earlier, this doesn’t mean anything. The jerseys aren’t cursed. The Jazz just happen to lose a lot of games when wearing them. Not all memories with these jerseys are bad ones, though.

Remember when Donovan Mitchell scored 38 points in Game 6 of the first round of the 2018 NBA Playoffs to eliminate the Oklahoma City Thunder? Good times.

How about when Favors had 20 points, 16 rebounds and two three-pointers in that same series just four games earlier? That was a huge road win for the Jazz.

Next. Stating the obvious; Brantley is too good for G-League. dark

There’s been good memories to go with the bad memories. Let’s hope the Jazz can pull out a win tonight while wearing the Association uniforms.
