Gobert blocks the MVP, Mitchell dunks on the other end
Yeah, I know this play didn’t count, but I couldn’t forget about this one. Remember that Bucks/Jazz game all the way back on November 8th? Most people will remember it from Bojan Bogdanovic‘s game-winning three, but that’s not the only play that got the crowd on their feet.
Late in the second quarter, Giannis Antetokounmpo drove the ball right at Gobert and was blocked. The Jazz got out on the fast break and found Mitchell. This is where Mitchell, unfortunately, traveled. After that, though, he threw down a one-handed jam over Sterling Brown.
Fans were upset that the travel was called, but it looked like a pretty good call to me. Still, this was an incredible highlight. I remember jumping off my couch fist-bumping the air in excitement. Utah was putting on a show against one of the best teams in the NBA.
Just check it out for yourself:
Just incredible. I can only imagine the energy in that arena after this play. If you saw this live, you are one blessed person! Just look at the reaction from the crowd and the players. That’s Utah Jazz basketball right there.
Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell have had a bunch of highlight plays from this season for the Utah Jazz, but these ones really stood out. I can’t wait to see these two playing together in the All-Star game!
