Another game-sealing block, this time on All-Star Lillard

As you saw with Rudy Gobert’s previous moment on this list, the Frenchman shows up when it matters most.

That proved to be true again against Damian Lillard and the Trail Blazers on December 26th. It was the day after Christmas, Jordan Clarkson’s Jazz debut and Utah was just getting hot, winning five of their previous six games.

It came down to the wire for an entire national television audience to enjoy. Gobert finished up with 16 points on 7-7 shooting, 15 rebounds and one block. That one block sealed the deal on a Jazz victory, though.

Lillard and the Trail Blazers were down four with under ten seconds to go in the game. He drove hard to the basket looking for a reverse layup, but Gobert played it perfectly and blocked it to his teammates. You can see it at the 1:35 mark in the video below.

While the Jazz were playing well prior to this game, as previously noted, this was the game where they really took off. Utah would win nine straight after this one, led by the defensive stardom of their All-Star center.

You can always count on Rudy Gobert to come through at the end of a game, especially on the defensive end of the court.
