Washington Wizards: Bradley Beal vs. Donovan Mitchell

The Washington Wizards have been a bit of a hot mess the last couple years and that’s been accentuated by John Wall‘s injury absence. Nevertheless, even with all their issues and struggles, they’ve still had the pleasure of witnessing one of the most exciting players in the league on their squad in shooting guard Bradley Beal.

Considering that Utah’s starting shooting guard, third-year man Donovan Mitchell, also happens to be one of the most thrilling players to watch, you know it’s going to be a lot of fun when these two go head-to-head.

The last contest in which these two faced off was perfect evidence of that. Beal had a sensational game, going for 34 points on 52 percent shooting from the field. However, Mitchell did him one better. Donovan finished the game with 35 points, which included shooting 56.5 percent from the field and 60 percent from three while earning his team the W.

Both players have had some fun battles during Donovan’s short time in the NBA, and considering that Mitchell has never lost to Beal, he’ll have plenty of motivation to keep the streak alive.

Beal is a sensational player that will absolutely test Donovan each time they face off. But as Mitchell looks to further solidify himself as a staunch defender in this league and as an all-around star, he’ll need to grow accustomed to shutting down opponents that are as prolific as the Wizards’ number one guy. If Donovan takes the leap he’s expected to this upcoming season, he should very much be up to the challenge.

Even so, each time these two play one another, you can expect it will be a battle of two of the NBA’s most exhilarating and dynamic scorers.
