A snapshot of Utah Jazz player Twitter randomness, including Royce O’Neale looking for a dog (too bad he’s busy playing 2K) and Nigel Williams-Goss dining SLC.

Utah Jazz fans, rejoice — after a rough week of FIBA World Cup play, Jazzmen past and present redeemed themselves to close out the big tourney. Rudy Gobert and France took home the bronze medal, Donovan Mitchell closed strong for Team USA and Ricky Rubio is officially a world champion and World Cup MVP.

So, uhh…what now?

With training camps more than two weeks away, the hardwood news cycle has seemingly come to a screeching halt, leaving hoops-starved Jazz fiends such as myself with little to do but be actual productive members of society. Seriously, who wants that?

Thankfully, wackiness continues to ensue on the Twittersphere via Jazz players’ accounts.

If you’ve come to this site unawares, there’s always some kind of fun or craziness going on with Jazz Twitter. Whether it’s Joe Ingles trash-talking former Jazzman Trevor Booker (or any of like 100 other people) or Mitchell teasing a headband as part of his game-day attire, the players are always chirping.

Since there’s not much else going on in Jazzland, here’s the update from social media. Brace yourself for maybe the offseason-est story you’ve ever read on this site!

First off, Utah’s lockdown specialist (and would-be starting power forward?) Royce O’Neale is apparently looking for a new pup, but he’s having trouble deciding exactly what he wants —

I, for one, would go for the American Bully, possibly because I’m still smarting from Gobert and Les Bleus beating Mitchell and the Americans, but Utah’s alpha dog has his own ideas —

Who knows when O’Neale will get around to buying a dog, though; he may be too busy playing NBA 2K20 —

This should come as no surprise: O’Neale warned us ahead of 2K20’s release that he was going to be incommunicado —

Elsewhere, Jazz point-man Nigel Williams-Goss is in Salt Lake City ahead of training camp and he’s getting that Greek (and I’m jealous) —

Not much more to report there. Truthfully, I was just hungry when I saw this.

Meanwhile, Mitchell is apparently a crooner. He got busted singing a little Chris Brown/Drake joint in his car and copped to it on Twitter —

He also apparently believes that Ricky Rubio is Jesus. I don’t know about that, but the Rubio was definitely walking on water at the World Cup —

He is not, however, down with Tim Tebow —

I, for one, side with Jazz two-way guy Justin Wright-Foreman (and so should you) —

Next. Reviewing the FIBA performances of Utah Jazz players (and Ricky Rubio). dark

That’s a sampling of the Jazz Twitter beat for the last week or so. Until real basketball is happening, look for more in the days to come.
