Raul Neto

Raul Neto is probably a player the Jazz would have liked to bring back. Unfortunately, they had to waive him in the wake of the Conley trade. Many hoped he would still return to the club on a minimum deal, but Neto was quickly snatched up by the Philadelphia 76ers.

It was a great move by Neto, who should benefit from a fresh start.

Next to Dante Exum, Neto had been Utah’s ultimate hard-luck case over the last few years. The list of injuries and ailments that have caused him to miss games since 2018 is so lengthy it would be folly to dig into it here.

When he actually played, though, he was super solid. Neto’s net rating was off the charts at 17.5 and, per 36 minutes, he averaged 14.1 points, 7.1 assists and 4.7 boards, all of which were career highs.

He should be a nice back-up to Ben Simmons with the Sixers, so long as he can shake the injury curse that plagued him in Utah.
