Utah Jazz: 15 realistic free agency options post-Conley trade
By Ryan Aston
Corey Brewer
Corey Brewer may have played for eight teams over his decade-plus in the pro game, but I actually look at that as a positive. Despite the quirks in his game, he brings a quality to the hardwood that every team wants.
Specifically, the ability to get out on the floor, create a little chaos, play passing lanes and finish in transition.
Even last season as a 32-year-old, he averaged 2.3 steals per 36 minutes and scored 1.26 points per possession in transition in his 24 games with the Sacramento Kings, which would have put him in 78th percentile for the year.
Sure, the Jazz need shooters and shot creators more than anything — and Brewer isn’t really that — but they’re also going to look to run when they can with Donovan Mitchell, Dante Exum and Conley, and Brewer still runs the floor better than your average 6-foot-9 guy.
He’s likely looking at a minimum-salary deal just to stay in the league at this point.
