DeMarre Carroll

While the Mike Conley trade was an epic win for Utah, the Jazz had to part with their junkyard dog in Jae Crowder in order to get a deal done. I know… such sad. So, really, who better to take up that enforcer role than the team’s old junkyard dog and another fan favorite in DeMarre Carroll?

Carroll’s game has evolved substantially in the six years since he last played for the Jazz. Before, he was just an energy guy and a defender. Now, he’s also an offensive glue guy with a dependable 3-point shot. After hitting just 27 triples over his first four years in the league, he’s now a 36-percent 3-point shooter attempting over six long bombs per 36 minutes over his last three seasons.

In Quin Snyder’s offense, he could step into Crowder’s role as a 3/4 spot-up shooter, but would probably actually make his shots at a decent rate, too.

Carroll would also provide experience as a 33-year-old with over 60 playoff games under his belt.

People have talked about Carroll as a Jazz target for years now, but the time for a reunion may have finally come.
