Delon Wright
There’s been a common trend with each of these Tier 3 guys so far, and it’s going to continue in full force with Delon Wright. The trend I speak of is inefficiency. Wright is shooting just 43 percent from the field and an even worse 30.6 percent from deep, not exactly what you want to see out of an NBA-level guard.
However, Wright does enough other things well that he’s still worth a second glance. He has a nice scoring ability, especially when he gets into a rhythm. He showed as much as a key piece of the Toronto Raptors’ heralded bench last season. He’s a good defender and a high IQ player who takes care of the ball.
And if he can get his three-point shooting back up to his 2017-18 or rookie days, he’ll be a solid addition. I think Wright has a ton of potential and that the Jazz could certainly help him get there. He is a restricted free agent and Memphis may want to hold onto one of their prizes from the Marc Gasol trade. But as a University of Utah alum, if an opportunity arose for him to play for the Jazz, it could very well be an ideal fit for both sides.
